When Beth + Matt reached out for an intimate elopement at Lake Tekapo, I immediately said YES! The couple travelled from Australia to elope amongst the lake + mountains with close family surrounding.

I was floored when I pulled into the location! We had a birds eye view to the most stunning scenery and the sun was shining bright the whole day.

Once guests arrived and caught up with each other, we got straight into family photos. Seeing as the group was so intimate, we really only needed 15 or so minutes to get through all of them!

The ceremony started and all I can say is WOW. Beth + Matt holding hands front and center, the insane view behind them, their family surrounding, cuddling close to one another. It truly was such an emotional moment to be a part of!

Of course, champagne was popped and shared amongst all the guests. We hung out for a bit while the family all chatted and laughed with one another. A lot of the family members live in New Zealand so they really cherished their time with Beth + Matt on this special day seeing as they live in Australia.

Later on, Beth, Matt and I headed down the hill to a beautiful field where we took their bride + groom photos. Again, it was SUCH a beautiful spot!! Bride + groom photos are my favourite part of the day, not only for the photos part but because it allows me to really talk to my couples! I love getting to know them, hear a little bit about their relationship, proposal story, honeymoon plans, just all the good stuff!

Not long after we took bride + groom photos, it was time for me to head off! B + M hung out a little longer and eventually the whole family headed back to their home in Lake Tekapo for more drinks + a meal.

I absolutely loved Beth + Matt’s intimate elopement amongst the mountains in Lake Tekapo. It was so relaxed + slow paced with so much meaningful conversations amongst everyone. As the photographer, I also felt like I had the chance to talk to some of the family members. It was lovely meeting everyone and feeling as if I was a really good family friend by the time I said goodbye!
