Seriously, WHAT A DAY for Emily + Leeroys elopement. Emily + Leeroy were one of my very first couples to model for me when I first started my photography business. Having the both of them choose me to now photograph their elopement was something I didn’t take lightly. There is nothing that I love more when I have couples that follow along my journey for so long that I get to capture all of their big life milestones. It feels like we’re in this together and that I’m a part of something so special in their life. It truly warms my heart in the best way.

I met E + L in the morning at Peppers Bluewater Resort in Lake Tekapo. I helped document a few special moments for Emily, such as a few details (cologne, perfume, jewellery, rings, shoes, dress), her mom helping her into her dress, putting on her earrings + necklace, her bridesmaids. I spent about an hour or so hanging out with everyone, getting to know them, making sure I was comfortable with everyone and everyone was comfortable with me. This is so important to me because I feel like when we’re all on comfy terms, we can really be ourselves which allows us all to let loose on the day so I can capture each + every moment exactly how it’s happening!

About a 10 or so minute drive away from Peppers Bluewater Resort Lake Tekapo, E + L had their ceremony. Gosh this location was something else! Is there anything better than a vast open field of tall grass?? Not to mention the backdrop absolutely stunning with a turquoise blue lake and mountain peaks.

E + L had an intimate ceremony with just a few of their close family members + friends. With no noise of the outside world – just the wind in the tree branches, birds flying by, the sun on our skin and the scent of fresh air. This was everything that E + L could have asked for!
